Lily Youth Furniture Inspires Creativity

Young people personalize their music (think iTunes), their shoes (think Converse) and their phones, so why not their room?

That was the thinking behind the Lily youth furniture bedroom from Opus Designs by Hooker Furniture.  The bedroom invites youth to express themselves with color, creating a bedroom in an endless array of color schemes to reflect their personality.

Lily is offered in a clean eggshell white finish and features removable color accent panels on case fronts and beds. Four color panels, each with two color options for a total of eight color choices, are stored inside the drawer fronts. Simply remove the knob and you can slide the panels in and out to create various color schemes.

“We knew we had a winner when students at High Point University went crazy over Lily at our Design Meeting,” said Cindy Hall, merchandising manager of youth bedroom for Hooker Furniture. A group of students who reviewed prototypes of Lily before it was introduced at the Spring 2010 High Point Market gave it a big “thumbs up.”

The color panels offered are up-to-date colors seen in kids’ fashion, shoes and electronics, including midnight, lavender blush, sea breeze, limelight, cocoa, snowflake, blue ice and bubblegum. Sound yummy and inviting, huh?

Not only has Lily received a “thumbs up” from college students and the many retailers who purchased it at the Spring market; it has received an “official” thumbs up from the prestigious Pinnacle Design Award judges. Lily, designed by Matthew Hurley, has been named a finalist for the Pinnacle Design Award in the juvenile furniture category.

Lily will be in a store near you soon. Meanwhile, our Back to School Youth Furniture Sale on all teen bedroom and youth furniture is happening now through August 16, with savings of $50 to $200 per item. Visit our Opus Designs Dealer Locator for where to buy information.
