Celebrate July with Red, White & Blue Furniture

By the time July rolls around with its heat and humidity, aren’t we all looking for a reason to celebrate? Sure, the Fourth of July is perfect for outdoor parties and hosting with style, but don’t miss the chance to refresh and renew your interior spaces as well. Independence Day provides a glorious backdrop for decorating and there’s no better impetus than our country’s freedom!

Personally, I can always find a reason to decorate. Whether I’m updating a tired-looking space, changing out the furniture in the kids’ rooms, or just rearranging my den—there’s a room in progress at my house at all times. But, I also have clients and friends who require a little nudge to get started, and seasons and holidays seem to be the answer. Fall is back-to-school time and gets people thinking about youth furniture and home office furniture. Family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas require updated dining room furniture and guest bedrooms. Easter also brings a renewed focus to the dining room while summer vacation demands new outdoor furnishings.

So what does the Fourth of July inspire? Color, of course! How lucky are we that America’s colors are red, white and blue? These timeless colors can be used alone or in varying combinations to create amazing spaces. Just imagine trying to do the same with Jamaica’s green, black and gold or Scotland’s hues of red and yellow.

Here’s a look at some inspirations from our ever-so-stylish patriotic color palette.

Red

Whether you use a little (as an accent) or a lot (think sectional sofa)—red in a décor scheme is always memorable.

For a little bit of red, the Tessa Demilune table adds a pop of color and whimsy to your room.

Ready for more red? Try our Red Accent Chest —it’s perfect for the foyer, dining room or den.

And if you love red, you’ll love the ‘Twitter’ sectional from Bradington-Young’s Envision collection.

White

Clean, pure, and always in style—white gives a decorator touch to any space. Style comes naturally to the sophisticated silhouette of the Sheridan chair from Sam Moore.

While white can be clean, fresh and sleek, it can also be romantic and sophisticated, as seen in distressed and aged whites like this one on the ‘Antonella’ floor mirror.

Of course, white can take you in a cottage direction and evoke a serene feeling. Nothing is more soothing and calming than an all-white bed. And there’s no softer shade of neutral than the ‘trellis white’ of our Primrose Hill Cane Shelter Bed.

Blue

From softest bird’s egg to boldest navy, there’s a shade of blue to fit everyone’s taste.

Blue is an amazing accent color and is perfect for dressing up an otherwise neutral room. Check out how these blue accent pillows and ottoman enliven the Rita’ sectional from Sam Moore.

Bold shades of blue like those in these fabrics and wall color are a great complement to the rich wood tones of the Harbour Pointe collection.

There’s no better way to embrace blue than with the chic Taraval’ leather chair from Bradington Young.
