Now that the holidays are over, most of us are “settling in” to spend a lot more time in our homes during the 2-3 long, cold winter months ahead. With shorter days and longer nights, we typically get cozy inside. But with our houses or apartments closed up tight against the cold, there’s generally less light and color in our lives.
Whether you are entertaining at home this winter or just spending more time indoors, you can add some needed light and color to your life by punching up your interiors. This can easily be done by changing a few colors and fabrics.
It only takes minimal time and investment to make your living spaces shine. Take a look at some of my recent updates to see if they give you any ideas:
In addition to swapping out my pillows for a holiday-inspired palette, I recovered my ottoman in a more neutral fabric that will complement these new colors as well as future ones.
I carried the look to the chair on the other side of the room as well, and added a colorful throw for added comfort and style.
Here are a few picks for creating this look.
Now that my living room feels fresh and inviting, our family will enjoy our time indoors more this winter –and be more likely to invite others over to enjoy it with us!
So, what colors would you pick to refresh and punch up your interiors this winter? Let us know in the comments.
