It’s been a dark and dreary winter, but I promise there IS light at the end of the tunnel.
Daylight Savings Time comes to the rescue in just a few days, giving us every reason to celebrate. Even better, your home interiors can do so much to lighten your mood and lift your spirits, providing a respite from the remaining winter days. Illuminating your home–and spirits– through light and airy furniture and décor will help you get through these last few weeks until spring.
We spend so much of our daily lives working, we should strive to surround ourselves with beautiful things. I fell in love with this beautiful Workwell Writing Desk from Hooker Furniture the first time I saw it. The curvy and light shape, the creamy white finish, the unexpected details make this a desk that would give endless inspiration as you work the day away.
With the coming of spring, we can expect to see new life appearing in all sorts of places. The cheery yellow fabric on the Astrid Sofa from Sam Moore Furniture can bring a bit of life and energy into your home décor. It’s shape is compact enough to fit almost anywhere, and the slim, sleek legs give the sofa a bit of levity so as not to weigh you down.
Creating a serene environment in your home is easy with this Rectangular Dining Table from Hooker Furniture’s Sanctuary Collection. The shape is easy and elegant. The finishes are airy. How fitting that a room centered around family gatherings and celebrations should be inspiring rather than dark and heavy.
One of the easiest tricks to bringing light into your home is through the use of mirrors. While some mirrored furniture is overtly glam, sometimes to the point of being too “over-the-top,” the Sanctuary Pearl Essence Chest brings just a touch of light into your space, and the white-washed finish is sophisticated without being overstated.
Spring is coming, I promise! Birds singing, flowers blooming. The Melange Silver Bird Chest seems to me a perfect choice for bringing a bit of light into your rooms. And its beautiful birds remind us that the end of winter is nigh.
No matter how long winter threatens to loom over us, you can create a peaceful sanctuary. By adding a light and airy flair to your interiors, you can lift your spirits all year long.

I love the table from the Sanctuary collection but I’m very upset it doesn’t come with leaves. 82 inches doesn’t really cut it for my large family.
Any other similar table that extend over 100 inches?
Yes. Maria, the Sanctuary Refectory Table at the link below, fully extended, actually extends to 132 inches in width! Best wishes, Hooker Furniture
